Child maltreatment places a significant burden on children, families, and communities. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, an estimated 679,000 children are found to be victims of abuse or neglect each year. Local Health Departments (LHDs) provide essential programs and services that improve the health and safety of communities. LHDs recognize that maltreatment does not happen in a vacuum and are able to coordinate resources and services to help ensure every child grows up safe and healthy. This webinar will provide an overview of the impact of child maltreatment in the United States and a local effort to reduce child maltreatment through implementing Triple P – Positive Parenting Program.
