Clare Grace Jones, Senior Training and Technical Assistance Associate (TTA) at Education Development Center (EDC), will present the forthcoming CSN’s Drowning Prevention Change Package and Outcome Measure Worksheet. CSN developed the Drowning Prevention Change Package, with input from state health departments, national partners, and the Children’s Safety Now Alliance, to include evidence-based and evidence-informed strategies and measures that can be used to prevent drowning across the socioecological model. Morag MacKay
Morag MacKay is the Chief Research and Network Officer of SKW. She is responsible for ensuring all aspects of SKW’s work are informed by data and research evidence, supporting evaluation efforts and providing leadership for their U.S. network of over 400 U.S. coalitions and the Safe Kids Worldwide Alliance made up of 20+ partners in other countries around the globe.
She holds degrees in nursing and epidemiology and her professional activities over the last 30+ years have largely focused on child injury prevention in the areas of surveillance, education, research, program and policy planning and evaluation in Canada, Europe and the U.S. From 2004-2015 she managed several large multi-country studies aimed at bridging the evidence to action gap and supporting adoption and implementation of evidence-based practices for the prevention of injuries to children and youth in Europe. Morag is particularly passionate about drowning prevention and chaired the steering committee that led the process to develop, and now implement, the inaugural U.S. National Water Safety Action Plan.
Clare Grace Jones
Clare Grace Jones, is a Senior TTA Associate at EDC. She is a public health expert, specializes in capacity building, instructional design, adult learning, quality improvement, and systems change. With over 20 years of experience, she partners with state and community organizations to strengthen systems focused on maternal and child health, injury prevention, behavioral health, and public health. She is passionate about creating engaging learning environments, fostering collaboration, and supporting systems that help children and families thrive.
At EDC, Clare Grace provides national TTA through initiatives such as the Collaborative for Advancing Healthy Experiences in Out-of-School Time and the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Technical Assistance Resource Center. Previous work included leading the development of the Drowning Prevention Change Package for the Children’s Safety Network, advancing quality improvement through learning collaboratives, and developing resources to strengthen cross-system partnerships.
Prior to EDC, Clare Grace served as Director of TTA for FIRST Steps Together, a Massachusetts Department of Public Health–funded initiative supporting parents in recovery through home visiting and perinatal peer recovery coaching. She also held leadership, training, coaching, and project management positions in state and community health agencies, including serving as a state-level capacity coach, prevention services director, direct service provider, and regional TTA provider.
Clare Grace holds an MEd in Instructional Design from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a BA in Elementary and Deaf Education from Flagler College.
