Understanding and Using Injury Cost Data in Your Prevention Efforts

Cost analyses add another dimension in setting priorities and are useful for comparing injury causes, assessing related health burden, and planning cost-effective prevention strategies. A recent analysis of 2010 cost data found that fatal and medically treated injuries resulted in nearly $30 billion in medical costs and $77 billion in work loss costs.

This webinar will provide a tutorial on conducting injury cost analyses and explore the many ways to use cost data in injury prevention efforts. Rebecca Spicer and Dexter Taylor will also present examples of cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness evaluations.
