Thanks to those of you who were able to join the call on July 9th. We especially appreciate all the helpful feedback that you gave about the Change Package and other aspects of the CSLC. We are looking forward to implementing your ideas and suggestions when we launch Cohort 3 in November, and we hope that all of you will be able to continue your participation!
Please go to the CSLC portal to view the slides from this call. Here are a few of the highlights that you shared (and please let me know if I’ve missed anything, since Maria isn’t back from vacation yet to correct me!):
Kentucky continues to implement Zero Suicide and to work on expanding clinic-based screenings. In response to concerns about how providers would respond to positive screenings, they have trained and implemented QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) across all settings.
In Kansas, they are also working on developing protocols for positive screenings for suicidal ideation. They will be holding their first statewide Youth Suicide Prevention conference in August!
This summer, Tennessee is launching a comprehensive Youth Suicide Prevention campaign, with messaging aimed at reducing stigma and encouraging young people to ask for help if they are struggling. They have also contracted with Sources of Strength, and have begun offering Training of Trainers, which will build their capacity to spread the program to new areas.
